Immigration to Israel from Belgium rose by 63% in 2010

Jewish immigration to Israel in 2010 recorded an increase of 16% to 2009, said the Jewish Agency, the quasi-governmental agency responsible for immigration to Israel.
"I am pleased to see that statistics show increasing numbers of new immigrants in 2010, welcomed Natan Sharansky, the chairman of the Jewish Agency, which hosted several of them on arrival at Ben Gurion airport near Tel Aviv and gave them their new identity cards.
The number of new immigrants for the year 2010 amounted to 19,130 persons against 16,465 in 2009 and 15,452 in 2008, which was the lowest level since 1987.
